Fictional Style Icon: Emma Pillsbury

Hello there lovelies,

When I was thinking about a fictional style icon to go with my theme for this week my immediate thought was Rachel Berry. But then I remembered Emma Pillsbury, the school guidance cousellor who suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder, and I changed my mind on the spot. Emma is always meticulously outfitted, which is probably a nod to the perfection & tidiness her character obsesses over in other areas of her life. She is colourful, fun, and my previously unsung style hero of Glee.

This is one of my favourite Emma colour combinations - black, white, teal, and orange! I adore the way her style combines cutesy & slightly matronly elements to make her look, well, adorable.

I am in love, head over heels, his & hers towels love, for this blouse. It is yellow, and has not one, but two giant fuck-off bows on the front of it. No further explanation required.

Florals! Bright colours! Maxi skirt combined with high neck blouse! The fact that she is singing Afternoon Delight, and thinks the song is actually about a dessert! Could this lady get any damn cuter?

There are tiny sailboats on her cardigan. Sailboats. And one hell of a pussy bow blouse.
Dear everyone who has ever said that redheads can't wear pink, eat your freakin' heart out. Emma looks totally adorbs in pink, and I am willing to fistfight with anyone who claims otherwise.

If you're wanting to snag a bit of Emma Pillsbury style for yourself, here's a few tips:

Emma Pillsbury

Stock up on cute cardigans in all the colours & patterns of the rainbow, from fuschia, to lemon, to sailboat. Team your cardigans with classic style dresses (preferably in a crazy print, or a bright colour), sweater clips, and brightly coloured accessories that match your adorable heels. If seperates are more your style, invest in lots of pussybow blouses, nautical stripes, and anything with copious amounts of bows. Pair these with colourful pencil skirts, striped swing coats, ruffles, and even more adorable heels. Above all, don't be afraid to wear everything with earrings in the shape of animal heads, and remember to wash your grapes.

Until next time, xo.
