The Whispers + Midnight Star
Aight. So first up today is The Whispers' "It's a Love Thing," a song that's seven or so years older than I am. Everything about it is brilliant. Funky instrumental, fabulous singing, all that jazz. And yet the whole is much greater than the sum of its parts. Utterly brilliant track. One of only two songs I've listened to on the train for the past week or so. Yea, I've got a bit of an addictive personality.
And I suppose it only makes sense that today's other song is the second of the two songs that I've had on repeat for the past week. "Midas Touch" by Midnight Star, duh. But seriously. Does the fact that these guys and gals are from Frankfort, Kentucky make any sense? Did that catch anyone else off guard? Or am I just a total weirdo? Also. I was gonna cut the "It's a Love Thing" video some slack 'cause it's heaps old and such. Until of course I saw this video, which just so happens to be the freshest thing I've seen in a good millenium or so.
