The Velvet Underground + Gigamesh

So I'm watching Moneyball for the first time. And yo. Why is Brad Pitt lifting weights and jogging and doing pull-ups and working out in general throughout the entire friggin' movie? Are you serious? Dude's out there getting paid to get even more handsome? Like. My bad, but I don't need to be watching the best looking dude ever get even better looking while I'm here sitting in bed in my underwear eating pizza getting even more disgusting. Ocean's Eleven? Great stuff. Dude's eating the whole time. And I'm like, "See? He's a fatty just like me. It's OK, self. You're not that pathetic." But this? Watching this man do this while I do this? Well now this just makes me hate myself.

Grouplove + Gigamesh + Miami Horror + Lenno + Jesse Oliver

So Panda Toes started in 2007. I was a freshman in college, and I used to work out five or six times per week. Late 2007 and early 2008 saw me start drinking more beer and smoking more cigarettes and lifting fewer weights. You know, "college stuff" or whatever. Graduated in 2010, drank a little bit less. Stopped smoking in 2012. Started eating lots of spinach. Broccoli. Vitamins. Hopefully that makes up for the fact that I've neither stepped foot in a gym nor gone on a run (ew, running, gross) since 2009.

Miami Horror - Holidays (Lenno & Jesse Oliver Remix) by Lenno

PS - I'm not entirely sure, but I'm pretty sure I wanna go on a romantic yet lighthearted picnic with the girl in Grouplove where we get a little bit drunk off of wine and feed each other cheese and giggle at our terrible jokes and maybe chase butterflies or something, I dunno.

Gigamesh + RAC

OMGigamesh, how I love your tunes. I mean, your remixes? Those alone won my heart quite some time ago. Then you went out and put together a fabulous little EP just for me. God. You're definitely my best friend. "Inspired by a girl the producer had been pursuing for about three years, 'When You’re Dancing' nods to the funky house of Basement Jaxx and swirling, atmospheric buildups of classic acid house." Yeesh, now that's something I can relate to. Or at least the girl part. Y'all can stream the EP sampler below and chirp at the RAC remix in full over at MTV.

Anyways. Tonight. I'm DJing at Sway at Spring and Greenwich. It's a '90s party, and it will be the ultimate awesomeness. No cover, open bar from 10:30-11:30. Peep all the details here.

Mike Posner + Gigamesh + Grindin Chart

Oh, the Grindin chart. The monthly list of the world's fifteen best songs (fact, not opinion) rarely features any of the cuts I've submitted for potential inclusion. Let's face it: Grinders simply aren't in love with Top 40 the way I am. On top of that, the dudes and dudettes on Grindin are all superstar DJs, producers, and bloggers and thus consistently have a grip of tracks the rest of the world (myself included) hasn't yet been able to get their paws on. Granted every single song ever featured on the list has ended up being simply huge (again: fact, not opinion), but I'm left in the dark relatively often. Oh well. However, I managed to sneak a pick onto this list this month, so please celebrate with me the recognition of Skeet Skeet's downright filthy "Tik Tok" remix. Then peep the video for the Gigamesh remix of Mike Posner's "Cooler Than Me," yet another song that I tried (unsuccessfully, as it were) to get on the November chart. Sigh.

1. Erol Alkan and Boys Noise - "Waaves (Gonzales Remix)"
2. Jose James- "Blackmagic (Joy Orbison's Recreation)"
3. Florence + the Machine - "YGTL (Renaissance Man Edit)"
4. Little Jinder - "Youth Blood (Bok Bok Remix)"
5. Roska - "Elevated Level (Kingdom Refix Feat. Brandy)"
6. Buraka Son Sistema - "General (L-Vis 1990 Remix)"
7. Hostage - "Valhalla (Momma's Boy Remix)"
8. Boris Dlugosch - "Bangkok"
9. Deadboy - "U Cheated"
10. Deadboy - "Heartbreaker"
11. Simian Mobile Disco - "Cruel Intentions (Maurice Fulton Remix)"
12. Dubbel Dutch - "Trollsta (Round Table Knights Remix)"
13. Hot Chip - "Take It In"
14. Ke$ha - "Tik Tok (Skeet Skeet Remix)"
15. Untold - "Stop What You're Doing (James Blake Remix)"

Disclaimer: I haven't yet watched this video. In fact, it may not even be a video at all. I'm on a bus, the internet connection is piss poor (I mean, it's a bus after all, not the Dartmouth College library), and I'm just anxious for y'all to hear the track. No patience whatsoever.

P.S. Click here to check out some pictures of the Posner + Wale + Gym Class Heroes concert I opened for a couple of months back.

P.P.S. I'll put up a Posner pic later. Flippin' bus internet. Too slow for much of anything. Predictable.
