David Guetta + Usher + HOHME

Ayo. Big shouts to HOHME for DJing at Princeton a couple of weekends ago. I mean I've wanted to DJ at Princeton for. Like. Christ, I dunno. Like two years now? I see you wilding in your eating clubs, Princeton. And I wanna be a part of it. I wanna be the dude playing "Get Like Me" and Carly Rae Jepsen and "Holidae In" and the such at your parties. So thanks to you, Princeton, for wholeheartedly rejecting my advances with a resounding "meh." And yea. Big shouts to HOHME for not bringing me along as the ill opener. Thanks, buddy!

And even bigger shouts to HOHME for competing in an Arrested Development trivia contest. And making it through eight zillion qualifying rounds. All the way to the finals. My dude, I quintuple dog dare you to be a bigger nerd. Nice glasses, nerd. Jesus, what a dorky nerd.

Guetta Contest + Uffie

One. Last. Contest. (Unless you publicity cats hook me up with some more goodies, in which case I'll gladly continue my selfless giving.) This time around we'll be offering y'all the opportunity to win a copy of David Guetta's new release One Love; we've got the album on both a C.D. and a U.S.B. card. If you're keen to snag either of the above prizes, email me (PandaToes@gmail.com) a link to your favorite D.J. mix of 2009 (only legal downloads, please - I'm not trying to steal mixes that were recorded for a proper release). This will in theory help me get through studying for midterms; a selfish selection process to counter my selfless giving.

Here's where I'd love to post up the "Sexy Chick" video, but it's not quite ready yet. Instead, feast your eyes on the latest output from perhaps my first crush in the blog game: Uffie. "Pop the Glock" may or may not have been one of my favorite songs three years ago, so I was unimaginably excited to see that an official video was finally dropping. Some of the graphics seem a wee bit overboard to me, but overall it's a heaps enjoyable three and a half minutes. I'd like to believe this means Uffie's first full-length will see the light of day soon, but I won't get my hopes up. (I remember getting a MySpace message from her many moons ago telling me that the L.P. would be out around Christmas '07 or '08 - I can't remember which - so I'm gonna play it safe and avoid another heartbreaking holiday season.) Still, fingers crossed.



Like the previous three contests, this one ends in one week.

Guetta + Rowland + Coldplay

So I'm pretty sure you've all heard David Guetta and Kelly Rowland's "When Love Takes Over" by now. You know, the cut that samples (or blatantly rips off - I'm not sure about the technicalities) Coldplay's "Clocks." And most of you elitist turds probably hate it for being enormously cheesy. And that puts you in the wrong. No subjectivity here - you're all just objectively incorrect. 'Cause this song is infectious, useful, etc. In other words, it's wildly fun, so get off your high horse and try to enjoy it.



The video, on the other hand, is absurd. (I guess the track's absurd as well, but the flick's absurd in a not-so-awesome way.) Yea, I 100% believe that dudes can just walk down a boardwalk, over hills, and onto the beach with a shopping cart full of outrageously expensive audio equipment without being either a) stopped by the police or b) knocked out and robbed. And of course a lovely lady can just parade about a highly public space in an elegant gown without being both a) ogled and b) heckled. Yeesh.







P.S. Guetta's true press pics are on an entirely different level (for better or for worse is your call to make) than pretty much any other artist featured here on Panda Toes.



P.P.S. Federer's really gotta pull this semifinal out. Del Potro v. Soderling would be such a bad look for tennis.
