A Dose of Style - Going Gaga

Why hello there!

And may I say welcome to another edition of my incoherent rambling about other peoples clothes. Tonight I pay homage to a woman fast emerging as one of my style icons - Lady Gaga. I don't always like what she wears, and I certainly don't understand most of what she wears. But I do admire her ability to completely commit to a look. She doesn't do anything halfway, doesn't give a crap about what you think and won't hesitate to wear things that us mere mortals would run screaming from. And for this I salute you Lady Gaga!

I am in love with this origami dress. Something I adore about Gaga is the way she plays with texture, shape and silhouette, and this dress embodies that.

I have no idea how many different elements are involved in this outfit, but I'm pretty sure I love all of it. Especially the feathered part.

Here is a lesson in how if you're badass enough you don't need pants. Also a lesson in how it is possible to look completely matchy-matchy without wearing any pants. Adore the huge bow and lilac lipstick.

Oh Gaga, you so crazy. The print and cut of this dress are amazing. Both are made even more amazing by the bright pink stockings. Genius.

Another crucial Gaga lesson - you can never have too much PVC in your outfit. Never. Plus, adding a small pop of colour to an all black outfit is great, as is using your actual hair as a hairpiece.

Obviously, I have Gaga Fever or whatever they're calling that disease where you become obsessed with Lady Gaga now. But what about you guys? Do you love her? Hate her? Admire her balls? Want to make out with her in a prison themed music video?

The Knocks

I DJed a show with DJ B-Roc of The Knocks a few months back. Dude was on point and I was blown away. Unsurprisingly, the highlight of the set came when B-Roc dropped his group's new single "Make It Better." The song is so dope, so summery, so perfect. DIY Madness!

Why hello there lovelies,

Can you guess what I did Sunday night when I was meant to be packing for Toowoomba? Yes, I did make another Batman-themed piece of clothing. I used the other half of the quilt cover that I made my last Batman dress from, and made this little strapless number.

I am very happy with this! Much happier than Batman is. He's watching you.

All good dresses require a twirling photo!

Buuuut wait, there's more! The bodice section of this dress is made of stretchy faux denim that I picked up from a fabric remnant bin at Lincraft, and thus this dress can also be a maxi-skirt.

Sigh, Batman themed summer dresses/skirts actually make me wish that it was Summer in Australia right now. Crazy isn't it? Tell me your thoughts guys - about this dress, about Batman, or about life in general. Just talk to me, I'm so damn lonely. Not really, but still, talk to me.

Over at the Monster Zero message board, a member asked if it could be arranged for U.S. fans to be able to get autographed copies of Haruo Nakajima's book.

Accordingly, I sent Sonoe Nakajima a query asking if this could be arranged and gave her a couple of ideas on how it can be done. I'll report what I find out.

Round Table Knights

Made to Play and Round Table Knights have both been crushing for a minute now. Thus, it comes as no surprise that "Cut to the Top" - a R.T.K. release on Made to Play - is a bit of a beast. The video isn't a throwaway either. Peep:

I received some details on the new book by our favorite Godzilla suit actor, Haruo Nakajima from his daughter Sonoe.

Sonoe's English is limited and instead of trying to correct what she wrote (and possibly mess it up in the process), I will post verbatim on what she said. You will get a pretty good idea on what the autobiography contains.

The book sounds very interesting. Hopefully, an American publisher can be enlisted to publish an English language edition in the United States.
