And, as you might expect, every last song on the list is spectacular in every sense of the word. Granted "Party Time" is the best song ever made, but I won't fuss too much about it being number seven on the list. And for your listening pleasure, peep the new track from Crookers - "We Love Animals" - which features Soulwax and Mixhell. Yea, you've probably already heard it. At the Drive-In + Grindin Top 15

Every once in a while you sit down to do some work, put on headphones, and realize that half of the music you listen to sounds exactly the same. And then you think to yourself, "Self, why do I do this to my ears? Why don't I give them something new - something exciting - to listen to?" This happened to me not but thirty minutes ago. It was not a good feeling.

Luckily, the crisis was soon resolved. Instead of looking for something new and invigorating, I took a trip back in time. About five years back in time, that is. To a time when I listened almost exclusively to At the Drive-In. It was a good time, a blessed time. And here I am sitting in the library realizing that A.T.D.I. was an incredible band and Relationship of Command is still one of my favorite albums to cruise to. Remarkable.

On a less high school note, check out Grindin's Top 15 for July. Ill songs, none of which can top "Party Time."

1. F.L.Y – "Party Time"
2. Lemonade – "Big Weekend (L-Vis 1990 Remix)"

Fast Life Yungstaz + Gramophonedzie + Peggy Lee

Since I last hollered at y'all, Fast Life Yungstaz have come out with yet another monster jam. I was convinced that their "Swag Surfin'" would be my summer anthem, but the strength of their "Party Time (Surf Party)" has me questioning my previous assessment. Yea, it's cheesy. In fact, a fellow blogger called it "Disney Channel Trap Music." But if you so much as tell me this isn't one of the catchiest tunes to hit your ears this summer, watch out for a slap upside the head.

And on a note less likely to tick off you elitist folk, check out Gramophonedzie's "Why Don't You?". The cut samples Peggy Lee's "Why Don't You Do Right?". So good. Seriously so, so good.

P.S. If you're in N.Y.C. tomorrow night, be sure to stop by Kurve between 11 and 3. I'll be DJing up a storm with ex-Panda Toes champion Dan Kagan. Expect to hear the lots of house, electro, and disco - don't come looking for a Top 40 overload.

P.P.S. Show our DJing MySpace page some love!

Daniela Hantuchova + Fast Life Yungstaz

Yo. So. I'm back. Went to Europe for ten days, escaped all things music and internet, watched the love of my life (Daniela Hantuchova) play some next level doubles at Wimbledon, etc. But now I'm back to the whole blogging and DJing thing that y'all know me for.

And in my expert opinion, there's no better way to kick things off than with some of my new favorite dudes - Fast Life Yungstaz. Their song "Swag Surfin'" is set to be a summer anthem (alongside "Little Secrets"), no question about it. And obviously it doesn't hurt that I'm pretty sure I just heard a Patty Mayonnaise name drop. The new video may or may not be more polished, but that whole we're-Universal-and-we-hate-embedding-videos thing really cramps my style, ya know?

P.S. The above pic features Daniela beating the pants off the young, female Andy Murray: Laura Robson. (And by "beating the pants off" I mean "scraping out at three set victory against.") Sorry, British readers.

P.P.S. Wikipedia is wildly creepy. After watching some chick named Melanie Oudin take down the hated Jelena Jankovic (at least she grinds my gears), I checked to see who in the world she was. And literally seconds after ESPN aired her victory, this had already appeared: "In her biggest win of her young career to date on June 27, Oudin defeated world #6 Jelena Jankovic, 6-7. 7-5. 6-2." Poor writing, impressive timing.
