What I Wore: The Cut-Out Dress Edition

Hello there lovelies,

This outfit was something that I threw on today to help me with working on my blog posts for the upcoming week. I like to schedule most of my posts, since I don't have much time during the week. That way I get time to actually read other people's blogs! I try to have a rough draft for everything for the week ahead by Sunday night, But I find it much easier to write when I get dressed up, instead of slobbing around in my pyjamas!

I am wearing: a dress from Jay Jays ($20), boots from Trade Secret ($29.95), tights from Target ($4.89), a bowler hat from Trade Secret ($12.95), and some owl bling that was a present from Mummy Dearest.

I bought this dress on a whim yesterday when I went into Jay Jays to buy new underwear. All of my everyday work underwear was very quickly becoming crotchless underwear, eek, & Jay Jays has the comfiest undies! I picked mine up for $1 a pair - $5 for a weeks worth of work undies ain't bad.

I absolutely loved this dress in the fitting rooms, & it is really comfortable, but after seeing these photos I'm not so sure about it. I love the pattern, and I love the front cut-outs, but I don't know if the colours really work with my skin tone. My camera was having trouble focusing on me in it, because the scene was that pale.

So, I'll ask you guys - what do you think of my impulse buy? Am I just imagining things because this style of dress is so different to what I would usually buy, or does it not quite suit me right? I'm thinking it might work better with a black shirt layered underneath, but any other styling suggestions?

Until next time, xo.
