Once upon a time, there was a girl who owned an incredible pair of pants. They were made of the finest black corduroy, and purchased from place of wonders known only as "K-mart".
But one day, the girl suddenly became afraid to wear the incredible pants. She was sure she had gained weight, and in turn terrified that the pants would no longer fit. When she went to her wardrobe she avoided the pants, even though she could think of many great outfits for which they were sorely needed. In time, she even considered getting rid of the pants, rather than trying them on and being forced to face her fear that they may no longer fit.
Then the girl awoke one morning and thought to herself, "you're being absolutely ridiculous, just go & try on the damn pants. If they don't fit, you can go to K-mart and procure more pants." So, now completely unafraid she strode over to her wardrobe and tried on the damn pants.
What do you know, it turns out that the incredible pants had fitted perfectly all along. The girls' fear had been entirely in her head, and robbed her of precious incredible pants-wearing months. And besides, even if the pants hadn't fitted, it was nothing to be afraid of - there are always more incredible pants in the world.
The moral of the story, dear readers, is that you should not let your fears stop you from doing anything that you want to do (or, of course, from wearing incredible pants). Often it turns out that the only place your fears have any true power is in your own mind.
Until next time, xo.
