Long time no see, how's the family? I actually tried to write this post yesterday. But the Blogger threw a tantrum, and then my laptop threw a tantrum, and then I threw a tantrum, and then I ended up watching four episodes of Stargate:SG1 back-to-back instead of doing something productive. But hey, such is life. Now that the tantrums are all over, I can rave to you about my latest (ok, perhaps ongoing would be the better word) girl-crush.
Emma Watson - probably better known to some as Hermione Granger - has been on my radar for a long time now. I've been a Harry Potter fan since primary school. I was actually the same age as most of the younger actors & actresses at the time the first Harry Potter movie came out. So in a way, I feel like I've grown up with Emma Watson. When I was 13 she was a talented young girl, who seemed a little unsure of herself. Now she has grown into a mature, intelligent woman who exudes strength - and has a killer sense of style to boot.
"I could be 100 years old and in my rocker, but I'll still be very proud that I was part of the Harry Potter films".
[On reporters asking the same questions over and over]: "That's the good thing about them! They all ask exactly the same questions and you can say exactly the same answers! You don't have to think, you can just stand there like a broken record going LALALA."
[On being a known actress]: "Most people are really nice but some stare, like you're some kind of zoo exhibit and not a real person with real feelings. Even when you take away all the glamour and attention and premieres and everything, it still comes down to the fact that I'm acting."
"I hope my head doesn't get very big. I'm just going to keep my feet on the ground, stick to friends and family and try and lead a normal life."
Emma's style speaks volumes about who she is. She has a very refined, classic way of styling herself, with more modern & edgy elements blended seamlessly into her outfits. I love pieces like the beige trench coat with the studded arms & the one with leather sleeves. But, I think that the biggest key to Emma Watson's style is her attitude. She totally owns everything that she wears. Attitude can make even the simplest styling amazing.
Anyway, I'm trying to admit to shamelessly loving Emma Watson for being a cool, classy lady (who, you know, just happens to be an actress in one of my favourite movie franchises of all time). Emma, if you're ever in Australia & want to have a beer, my door is open. Also, I hope that my (currently non-existent) daughters grow up to admire any actress, that they will admire one like you.
/gushing.
Until next time, xo.
