Oh, and the picture. Well I looked for a cool image of Godzilla sitting at the computer, but didn't find one that I liked.
This one is from Thailand back in 2008. It shows a guy passed out under a Godzilla statue out in front of a ramen restaurant.
This is what I wrote about the pic at the time:
It looks like Godzilla has taken it upon himself to punish rowdy drunks in Bangkok, Thailand. Okay.....maybe not. In actuality this person, who had been celebrating Chinese New Year with a few too many, found a comfortable place under this statue of Godzilla to take a little nap. Of course, from the expression on Big G's face, and the position of the drunk, it looks like the monster just laid out an ass whoopin. Then again maybe the sleeping man should be more concerned that the "King of all Monsters" may be getting ready to "blast a dooky." It seems likely that the man, in his enhanced state, thought that Godzilla would protect him while he sleeps. Regardless, it makes for a great photograph.
I have tried to find out more about the Godzilla statue. I honestly never heard of it before. I have read two conflicting stories that place it either outside a bar or outside a ramen house on Thaniya Road at the corner of Silom Road. I will have to do a little more digging on this one.
