Hello there lovelies,
I got a sneaky day off today, as everyone in Brisbane had a public holiday for the Ekka. According to my good friend Wikipedia, the Ekka is the annual agricultural show of Queensland, Australia. I wouldn't really know, because despite having the public holiday every year, I have never been. I love animals, crazy rides & showbags as much as anyone else, but every year I've either not had the money to go, or not wanted to risk walking into the disease-infested showgrounds. It is a truth universally acknowledged that when you go to the Ekka, you end up sick. This year I didn't want to risk reigniting the virus that knocked me out for most of Winter. At least I did get to leave the house though - we went shopping for new work clothes for The Boyfriend!
I can finally discuss our big news, as everything has gone according to plan (at least for the moment). The Boyfriend landed a really good job with the council, in the little Central Queensland town of Clermont. The town is 945km away from Brisbane, and at the last census, had a population of 1,854. The Boyfriend starts work in two weeks. I'm staying in Brisbane, with his Dad & Sister until our lease finishes in early November. That's right ladies and gentlemen, I better strap on my cowboy boots because I'm about to become a country girl. We'll also be living a lot closer to my parents, and I'm going to study by correspondence starting next year.
Enough with the heavy news, I hear you say. Onwards to the failed jump shots! As you lovely people know, I never fail to deliver when it comes to embarrassing myself. Biggest. Klutz. Ever.
Here's one of me almost falling over in an attempt to land a jump. I only just noticed that I must have been concentrating real hard, because my tongue is sticking out. Also, did I mention that this dress that I scored for eight bucks was originally $55? Oh, and remind me to show you the things I've thrifted lately sometime. Bargain shopping rocks.
Until next time, xo.
