Kylie Minogue
I'm a huge Kylie Minogue fan. Everything she touches is gold so far as I'm concerned. Or at least every song she touches is gold. Her videos, on the other hand, are majorly hit or miss. For example, the video for "All The Lovers" has winning written all over it. I mean I have no idea what's going on, but still. Indescribably great.
But then there's rubbish like the "Love at First Sight" video. Now "Love at First Sight" is a next level pop song. Played it last night. Played it last Saturday. Played it at each of my two gigs last Friday. Etc. But the video? Lord. I quite literally can't find a single thing that I like about it. Kylie prances around like the most self esteem-deprived girl at the party (in what may or may not be snowboarding pants), background dancers go through a routine of uninteresting and unimpressive moves, and grid lines shoot all over the place for no apparent reason. Infuriating. But yea, the song is more or less one of the best things since sliced bread.
