Mix and Maxi by Miss Peregrin featuring French Connection dresses
Wearing the same maxi dress with different belts/accessories and becoming a different character with each change. Sparkly eyeshadow, stacks of cheap shiny bracelets and gladiator sandals. Large satchel-like bags to carry my large stack of Summer reading, starting with Silverthorn by Raymond E. Feist. Loooong dresses and flowing skirts.
Everything nautical. Navy & blue, navy & black, navy & navy. Sailor hats, stripes, and military inspired clothing. 50's style bikinis for lounging in the heat and looking incredibly adorable. High waisted shorts and flat, tough-looking boots for pounding the pavement.
Black everything mixed with neon. Longer length singlets for comfortable Summer adventuring. Crazy hats in every style and colour, paired with dramatic cats eye makeup. Pair upon pair of strappy sandals to match glittery nail polish. More huge bags to carry all your Summer essentials (swimsuit, towel, books, magazines, lip balm, sunscreen etc.), and ensure I get my bag checked everywhere I go. Harem pants everywhere - beachwear, streetwear, sleepwear when the day wears me out.
Every colour, everywhere. Wearing home tie-dyed clothing everywhere and pretending you didn't stain your bathtub. Plastic sequinned fedoras for $2 from the nearest discount store. Make up in amazing colours to astound the eye. Layers of chains, pendants and sea creature detail. Cutting off an old pair of jeans to make shorts. Dousing things in bleach to make interesting patterns. Bikinis in every style and colour, and damn those people who say I can't wear one.
Owning my first pair of Doc Martens, and pairing them with cutesy thigh-high socks. Shorts, shorts and more shorts. Bright colours that I wouldn't normally be drawn to. Shredding old t-shirts, and wearing all your favourite t-shirts again (then cutting them up and making them into new favourites). Caps that might not look pretty, but will keep my hair out of my eyes as I run along the beach.
Until next time, xo.
