What I Wore Today (EKKA Holiday Edition)

Hello there lovelies,

Today was Brisbane's EKKA public holiday, which most importantly meant that I got an extra day off work this week. Usually I love my job, but I am feeling particularly rundown and overworked at the moment so I really appreciated the day off. Like most other Brisbane residents, I didn't actually got to the EKKA on the EKKA holiday - instead, The Boyfriend and I wandered around the shops for a bit, and then ventured to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coo-tha. In other important news, I actually wore a bit of colour today!

Outfit Rundown
T-shirt: Trade Secret (Mooks), $22.95
Vest: Just Jeans (around a million years ago), $20
Long-sleeve shirt: Trade Secret (Sass), $12.95
Jeans: Jay Jays, $20
Boots: Target, $40

The gardens were beautiful! I've never been to the Mt Coo-tha gardens before, and I was surprised by the size of them - 52 hectares! We wandered around for a good few hours, and we didn't see anywhere near the whole thing. I can't wait to explore the rest of the gardens, so we're going to spend a whole day there sometime in the near future. Here are a few of my snapshots from the day:

I didn't get any good pictures, but this girl had a beautiful drake swimming around with her. At any time they were never far from each other. Totally adorable.

One of the many gorgeous tiny waterfalls you come across wandering through the gardens.

The boyfriend concentrating. PHOTOGRAPHY IS SRS BIZNESS YO.

Despite it being Winter, there were still some amazing flowers in bloom.

Duckling! This was the only one I saw today. I kept panicking because it was diving and taking forever to come back up.

Spot the water dragon. I love these funny little guys.

Looking out over the lagoon.

Any other Brisbanites out there? How did you spend your EKKA holiday? What do you guys like to do with random days off? And, while you're answering my inane questions, how do you guys deal with work-related stress and all its associated grievances?

Until next time, xo.
