Today was Brisbane's EKKA public holiday, which most importantly meant that I got an extra day off work this week. Usually I love my job, but I am feeling particularly rundown and overworked at the moment so I really appreciated the day off. Like most other Brisbane residents, I didn't actually got to the EKKA on the EKKA holiday - instead, The Boyfriend and I wandered around the shops for a bit, and then ventured to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coo-tha. In other important news, I actually wore a bit of colour today!

The gardens were beautiful! I've never been to the Mt Coo-tha gardens before, and I was surprised by the size of them - 52 hectares! We wandered around for a good few hours, and we didn't see anywhere near the whole thing. I can't wait to explore the rest of the gardens, so we're going to spend a whole day there sometime in the near future. Here are a few of my snapshots from the day:
I didn't get any good pictures, but this girl had a beautiful drake swimming around with her. At any time they were never far from each other. Totally adorable.
One of the many gorgeous tiny waterfalls you come across wandering through the gardens.

Despite it being Winter, there were still some amazing flowers in bloom.
