Best of the Interwebz

Hello lovers,

Welcome to this weekends round-up of readworthy links! It is very late in the day for a links post, but I spent the entire day op-shopping with The Boyfriend's Mum. It was a glorious day - I only spend $30.50, and am full of ideas for making things out of crazily patterned bedsheets. Now onwards to the reading material!

First up, it's time for me to use my blogging powers for evil and pimp The Boyfriend's new blog. After making the switch from digital to film photography recently he decided to turn his old blog into a shiny new photoblog! I know he would really appreciate some support and constructive criticism so check out his new site, or his Deviant Art profile.

How To Take Your Own Outfit Photos by Jennine Jacob for Independent Fashion Bloggers is a handy little resource for those of us struggling with solo photography.

Scott Pilgrim Versus The Unfortunate Tendecy To Review The Audience is a really great piece of writing about movie critics who insult the intended audience of movies they dislike.

Corrine of Frock & Roll has penned more helpful advice for us bloggers - The Blogger's Guide To Search Engine Optimisation: The Non Confusing Way! This is only part one, so make sure you check back for later parts!

I really loved the Are You Independent? Or Co-dependent? post over at Smaggle Style, which asks you to consider if you are in a canoe or a kayak. Adorable.

On that note, I also really appreciated the guest post by Michelle of Might and Main on how to stop getting overwhelmed, also from Smaggle Style. In fact, Michelle's whole blog looks like it is full of amazing work, so check it out.

THE secret to success. this is IT. for reals. is a great read from White Hot Truth about being successful.

Max California of Queen of the Trailer Park and Thera Joyce of Crafty Pirate are having a sew-off! Starting the 16th of August, and finishing the 23rd (Aussie time that is) these sewing heavyweights are facing off in the DIY challenge of a lifetime! When the dust settles who will be left standing? Only time will tell, so stay tuned!

Cute as tutorial for a scrap-embellished tank top from the incredible Addie Marie, who is another of my favourite DIYers.

If you're feeling as childish as I am today, you're in luck! Here's a great tutorial for how to make a sock critter, from Impish DIY.

Letter to People Who Are "So OCD" is a really thought provoking read from Vanessa of Chicken Soup For The Dorky Soul. This is exactly how I feel talking to people who say they are "so depressed" whenever they have a slightly bad day.

The Babysitters Club by Bret Easton Ellis is possibly the most amazing thing I have ever read.

Now, if only I had been reading these links whilst relaxing on a Giant Kitteh Couch. Oh yeah. Then my life would have truly been complete.

Now that I'm done with that, it's off to watch more episodes of Dexter and possibly make things out of a Winnie The Pooh quilt cover at the same time. Oh man, now I just sound really creepy. Oops. Weigh in with your thoughts! Do you have any good links to share? Any great weekend plans? Do you think I'm creepy? Even if the answer is yes, I'd still love to hear from you.

Until next time, xo.
