My Three Weeks In Toowoomba (Or, Looking Cute Without Freezing Your Ass Off)

Hello lovelies!

Hopefully as you're reading this I've made it home safely from my three week stint in Toowoomba helping to open up a new Trade Secret store. So basically, I started the three weeks working in a freezing, dark warehouse and eventually it became a shiny new store. In between though, there is a lot of sorting, invoicing, heavy lifting and organising of merchandise to do. It is hard work - you finish your day exhausted, cold and dirty. But, there is no reason that you can't look reasonably good doing it, without sacrificing comfort or warmth. To commemorate my three weeks in the town of coldness, here is a little Winter inspiration for those of you who do this kind of thing on a regular basis, or just need some ideas of cute lounging-round-the-house-wear.

These are pretty good example of what I wore to work everyday in Toowoomba. No joke, every day I was wearing at least a singlet, t-shirt, long-sleeved shirt and a jumper. Also, a beanie, scarf and gloves. Those hobo gloves with no fingers - they saved my life, you hear me?

But, if you're (unlike me), not really a jeans girl then there are always some pretty cute sweatpant alternatives. I've been trying to jazz everything up with some bright colours, interesting prints, or funny slogans to help make the day a bit more bearable. According to the people I work with I have the best t-shirt collection known to man. I have to admit, this is probably true. This has also been my best ever chance to trot out my extensive collection of knitted headwear and scarves. In Brisbane it doesn't often get cold enough for me to really rug up, but Toowoomba has great scarf/beanie weather.

I'm so happy that I've finally gotten a chance to really layer up as well! Like with beanies/scarves, it doesn't often get cold enough to really get going with layers in Brisbane, so I've been working the shit out of layers in good old Toowoomba. It's probably a lot of effort to put in just to work in an unopened store, but dressing a bit cute makes me feel so much better for the day ahead. So, how about you lovelies? When you're lounging around, or doing a bit of grunt work do you still try to look good?

Until next time, xo.
