Grandchester Steamfest '10

Why hello there!

Well my dears, as it turns out I was so exhausted after my weekend of relaxation that I forgot to tell you all about it. Better late than never though! Here are my outfit shots & various pictures from Sunday, when The Boyfriend, some friends and I attended the Grandchester Steamfest. A fun day was had by all as we chased steam trains, examined old machines, and watched various interesting displays of things like blacksmithing. By the way, if blacksmithing wasn't a word before, it is now. Just so you know. Keep up with the times people!

Outfit Rundown:

Hat: Bought at a QPSR running day, $12.95
Jacket: Secondhand, $2
Singlet: Trade Secret (Lovable), $5
Pants: Jay Jays, $10
Boots: Target, $40

Yup, that's me from the side.

Here's a close-up of the buttons on my jacket. They are all special. The Freak Revolution one was sent to me from a very cool website, that also sent me a membership card. I'm a card-carrying member of the Freak Revolution, haha. The "shit happens" one was given to me by a friend on her last visit. The unicorn one reads "I hope a unicorn humps your bum", and was given to me by my favourite Canadian. "One in a million" was given to me a few years ago by the little girl who lived next door. She got it on her birthday, and gave it to me. I love the 'don't stare' badge, because people freak out when they read it after staring at you. The Jay Jays badges were a fundraising thing for one of the charities they support. The "Need Coffee Now" badge came from another good friend, and the "Lost Cause" Emily The Strange badge was a gift from my Mum. I love all these little things so damn much. But, where are the pictures I hear you say?

The steam train that was running to and from Steamfest.

The Boyfriend, as we were in the waiting stage of train chasing.

These beautiful draught horses were being used to show how farmers plowed their fields before the use of machinery.

It was really awesome to see the way this man could control the horses with his voice.

Oh, there were beautiful vintage cars as well.

I am madly in love with this ute. I have a thing for old, wierd coloured utes.

So there lovelies, it might be late but don't say I never tell you anything! I'm pretty sure you weren't saying that anyway, considering that I never shut up, but hey. How were your weekends? Exciting things? Faraway places? Link me to pictures of your adventures!

Until next time, xo.
