DIY Madness (Or The Day I Became The World's Best Tablecloth)

Hello there lovelies!

Contrary to the appearance of that first photo, this post is not announcing that I have developed a drug addiction. Stop panicking, I just look like that when I'm being normal. No, no, I've been a bad DIYer and haven't shown you anything that I've made in a very long time. Well, this weekend I made two dresses. Peruse away!

I didn't actually make this dress - it was in my pile of "refashion and you can keep it" clothes. So I used an idea that I'd put on hold for ages (courtesy of a kick-ass book called DIY Fashion), and put those thrifted doilies to good use. If there was a best possible way to look like a tablecloth, then this is it. I smell a new favourite Winter dress.

I made this one from scratch, using Max California's Bow-Back Tee tute as inspiration. I followed all the same steps, except I traced on of my well-fitting singlet dresses instead of a t-shirt.

Best thing about this DIY: it saved me $29.95. I've been lusting over a bow-back dress from work, and said that I could buy it if I couldn't make a good one myself. TAKE THAT RECKLESS SPENDING. What have you been making (or lusting after) lately?

Until next time, xo.

P.S. Head on over to Max California's blog and check out her latest DIY challenge: Sewing Through The Decades.
