Best of the Interwebz!

Hello there lovelies,

This weekend I have been working my butt off scouring the house for anything useful to donate to the Queensland's flood victims. I am tired, and dirty, and didn't get out of my sweatpants today. But there is a knee high pile of things worth donating on my living room floor, and our house is decidedly emptier. I also received word that my work was pretty much swallowed by the floods, and almost everything inside is damaged. One of my workmates had to be rescued by SES boat from the roof of her house. And everyday there are more terrible stories from the worst-affected areas, like Grantham and the Lockyer Valley. I haven't even been affected very badly (all I lost was my workplace, for a few weeks), and I just want to cry all the time. Instead, I read your blogs. You guys keep me sane! So, in return for my sanity, here's some links:

Spin Your Story: Pain & Purpose is the first story in a brand new feature from Kind Over Matter - a guest post by Michelle of Wicked Whimsy.

Online Negativity & Comment Etiquette
is a kick-ass post from Rock N' Roll Bride about respecting each other on the Internet.

Cats In Glasses. Because who hasn't fallen in love with The Dainty Squids kitty family? Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for injuries sustained from trying to force you own kitties into glasses.

Totally in love with the artwork of Urban Cake Lady.

Also in love with the blog I love ILLUSTRATION. So much amazing artwork!

I found Children and the Fashion Industry: When Are They TOO Young?, from Beautifully Invisible, to be a really interesting read.

Speaking of interesting reads, check out The Demoiselles post on Bodysnarking vs. Fashionsnarking.

define this....identity
is a thought-provoking post from a cool little blog called mode.

Oh cuteness. A tutorial for an Owl Key Chain Holder is most certainly my bag. Baby.

Such a great discussion has sprung up on Gertie's New Blog For Better Sewing about sewing, fashion design, and intellectual property. Check it out here and here.

Quick, easy, and awesome DIY tutorial at Dirty Hems: DIY Neon Sole Heels.

Sal of Already Pretty writes about the lessons we can learn from Dory of Finding Nemo. Adorable.

So putting this on my list of things to make for Winter: DIY Woven Ribbon Sweater.

Enjoy lovelies. Also, do me a huge favour. Drop whatever you're doing right now, go and hold your family tight. You have something that so many people in Queensland have lost this week. Cherish it.

Until next time, xo.
