What I Wore Today - Shorts & Tights Edition

Hello there lovelies,

Mother's Day isn't usually a great day for me, because the memory of our miscarriage seems to pop up to haunt me, but it's been ok today. I had one massive breakdown in the kitchen, while cooking The Boyfriend's breakfast this morning, but he took care of me. I've spent the rest of the day watching funny movies, painting my nails, and planning my blog posts for the next week. Today was also a tricky day to dress for, because it was cold but not too cold, sunny but not too sunny, and I wasn't sure whether I'd spend most of the day in bed. But still, I soldiered on and had my first crack at layering pieces for the colder months.

Outfit Rundown:

Top (which looks like 2 tops, but isn't): Trade Secret (Coco), $19.95
Shorts: Trade Secret (Pure Hype), $14.95
Tights: Sportsgirl, $10
Boots: Target, $40
Chainmaille necklace: Crafted by The Boyfriend

To be honest, I'm still a little on the fence about the pairing of shorts and tights. I don't wear shorts very often. Mainly because I can't find many pairs that suit the proportions of my lower body. They always ride up on the inner thighs, or gape at the back. I love this pair though, they fit perfectly. I felt really great in this outfit too, and The Boyfriend was a big fan of it too.

Oh, the home situation is going better by the way. We've all have some very serious talks about our main issues, and things have improved a little. Still, I think our personalities and lifestyles just conflict too much for us to be housemates on a long-term basis. At least things are tolerable for the moment though, and they usually go out at least once a week to give The Boyfriend and I some space (which of course, is code for "empty house for sexytimes")

How was your Mother's Day/Sunday? And, what did you wear?

Until next time, xo.

P.S. Max California made me a blog button, because she is amazing. It's over in the sidebar, and designed for all you lovely people who get featured on my blog, just in case you want to tell people you were! I was so excited about it that I rambled incoherently about it to The Boyfriend at 2AM this morning.
