Funkystepz + Rihanna + Sebastian Ingrosso + Alesso + Dash Speaks

Just wanna take a moment here to show myself some love for having the ill low cholesterol. I eat like a pig, sit in bed in my underwear all day, and refuse to exercise. And still? Yes, still. Still low cholesterol. And I just joined a gym and started exercising and eating vegetables (gross, I know) and yo not for nothing but my cholesterol is gonna be on point if I stay doing this healthy adult nonsense. Feeling myself.

EDIT: Cop the Dash Speaks remix here.

Chaz Van Queen + Dash Speaks

More New York City things. Chaz Van Queen's new track. "Bring Your Smile." Off his forthcoming record, #ASMILEFORYOU. Quiet. Relaxed. Beautiful. And the cut's got remixes coming from Turbz, Jack of Knifeshow, and Obey City? Yea? Seriously? Bomb, bomb, bomb. The final product. The whole package. Yea, it's gonna be something special.

Oh yea. And the kid Dash Speaks. Has a new remix. And it terrifies me. Maybe because it's a spooky "Monster Mash" remix. Or because I'm scared of dubstep because I'm old. But this. This is terrifying. And fun. See you in all of my Halloween sets these next few days, Dash Speaks remix.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah + Portugal. The Man + Turbz + NSR + Dash Speaks + DJ Half Price + DJ Salinger + Friendly Greg

CMJ. So my first CMJ. Drove down to NYC from New Hampshire. DJed the Big Stereo and Palms Out Sounds party. At some place. On the LES? Maybe? I have no idea, no recollection. It was my first time in NYC, gimme a break. I remember that I played right before Little Boots. And that I played a ton of Mylo. And that the right CDJ turned off in the middle of my set and I had a freakout.

Anyways. CMJ. Today. First up is the daytime party at The Ace Hotel. Portugal. The Man. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. Zola Jesus. We Are Augustines. Beggars Group. Free. Duh. What's not to like about that?

And then of course, the #AlmostFamous CMJ pseudo-showcase. Turbz. NSR. Dash Speaks. DJ Half Price. DJ Salinger. Myself. At The Blind Barber on 10th and B. From 10-4. Free, purr usual. Grown and sexy, purr usual. Etc. Less CMJ, more standard party time.

Dash Speaks

So y'all know about my dude Dash Speaks, right? Dude loves hip-hop. Dash is always all, "Blah, blah, hip-hop, blah, this, that, the other." And then I'm all, "Durr, blah, Soulja Boy, bleh, etc." And then the kid just kinda looks at me funny because I'm such a simpleton. Whatever.

Anywho, Dash just released a bunch of hip-hop remixes. Ten, to be exact. And they're fire. If you're into that whole downloading in bulk thing, cop the whole release here. If you wanna preview some tracks first, peep four of them on SoundCloud. If you wanna have party time without leaving the loving embrace of Panda Toes, stream his "Are You That Somebody" remix below. It's the one.

P.S. Come hang out with Dash, NSR, and me while we DJ at The Blind Barber (10th Street and Avenue B) this Wednesday.

EDIT:
I'm at The Blind Barber next Wednesday. You can still go this week. Like, NSR and Dash will still be DJing. And I mean, I'll almost certainly be stumbling around the spot. I'm just sayin'. You know. Don't expect to hear OD Morrissey all night, that's all.

Hercules and Love Affair + In Flagranti + Dash Speaks + Tubetops + Bodega Girls

Lots of musics from a couple of friends today. First up comes some tune action from my pals Tubetops. Various versions of Tubetops (see: Joe Booty) have accomplished various things (see: opening for Maino, the "Relax" music video), but this here lineup just might be the best yet. The lads just wrapped up a remix of Bodega Girls' "School Night." Rinse, rinse:

And then there's my boy Dash Speaks. You know, the one I DJ at The Blind Barber with on the first Wednesday of everything month? Yea, him. Anyways, he just released his new project The Eastern Bloc Series. You may or may not hear a couple of these tracks tomorrow night at Almost Famous. Do come.

And lastly, be sure to check out In Flagranti's remix of Hercules and Love Affair's "Painted Eyes." Reminds me a lot of the "Hoppy Bunny" episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Because there's a flute in it and I have a piss poor attention span, that is.
