Avicii + Madonna + Turbz

So the kid Yung Turbz made yet another spectacular edit a bit back. Avicii v. Madonna. Great stuff, Yung. But come on, Turbz. "Turbz Music Surprise"? Really? That's just so gross sounding. Like really sexually suggestive. In an icky way, that is. Christ. You might as well just call it "Turbz Afternoon Surprise Icky Deviant Delight." Gross. Song's really super rad, though. So I guess I forgive you, bro.

Avicii + Tocadisco

Okie dokie, announcement time. Looks like I'll be opening for Avicii at Dartmouth College on Monday, January 9th. Pretty ticey way to start off 2012, no? I mean it's not opening a Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and The Human League mega-tour, but it's a start, right? I'll be the guy train-wrecking transitions because I'm too busy asking Avicii to autograph a picture of my cat to actually mix and the such.

Avicii + Nicky Romero + Knightlife + Emperor Machine

OK guys. Gals. Y'all know me. I'm not that dude posting up OD "exclusive" set rips. "HQ" live rips. Whatever, etc. I'd much rather embed old Nicki Minaj and Pet Shop Boys videos. But this song? The new Avicii track? Possibly a collaboration with Nicky Romero? I mean, it kinda knocks in serious way. And I just couldn't wait. Because I have no self-control. Most people will probably go hammer for the "D.A.N.C.E." acapella. Which quite frankly I could do without. But regardless. Whomever it's by and whatever it's called and whenever it's to be released, this track sounds massive.

Also. Knightlife. New release on Cut Copy's Cutters Records drops tomorrow. And it's wonderful. Like are you hearing this Emperor Machine remix? It's just ten minutes of unimaginable awesomeness. Cop tickets to the EP launch party in Sydney with Cut Copy, Knightlife, Das Moth, and Francis Chang here.

Captain Cuts + The Knocks + Avicii

So I'm DJing that party last night. Pop outside for some "fresh air" or "a cigarette" or "something." And hey, it's B-Roc from The Knocks walking down the street! So we chat for a bit. Mostly about cats. Because cats are awesome, you see. And then he tells me about some new Captain Cuts mash-up. With "Dancing with the DJ." And "Levels." And I'm all, "Ayo, send me that!" And he's all, "Yea, OK, whatever." And then he leaves, and my boy's all, "Who was that?" And I'm like, "Oh, that was B-Roc from The Knocks. Sorry, should've introduced y'all!" And he's all, "Greg, are you famous or something? How do you know The Knocks?" And I'm all, "Yea, I'm basically crazy famous." Because I stay lying to my friends.

HOHME + Florence & The Machine + Afrojack + Leona Lewis + Mark Knight + Avicii + Superskank

OK. So there's this kid I know. HOHME. Who does heaps of cool stuffs. Like win Let's Mix competitions. And go to Puerto Rico on that entrepreneurial tip. And DJ some of NYC's most popping daytime parties. And blah. Blah. Etc. And so on and so forth.

Anyways, the kid does mash-ups. Or blends. Or whatever. And I mean, usually that sort of thing isn't really. Well. My thing. At all. But HOHME? He pulls it off. You know. Like it's evident that he spent more than fifteen minutes on each of these. Which of course is more than can be said for most people's mash-ups. Dude puts in the work, and he gets results. Quality music songs for your earholes:

Coldplay + Avicii + T&K + Canblaster

Coldplay's new single "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall." Eh, whatever. Right? But the Swedish House Mafia remix. Boom! Right? And a week or so ago Avicii posted up a preview of his remix. A little less boom, a little more whoosh. You know? No worries. Still plenty of boom.

In other news, Canblaster. Literally never not making bangers. It's gotten boring. Like there's never the excitement. Like, "Is this gonna be a banger?" That element of surprise is entirely gone. Like, "Oh, another banger. Should've seen that coming." Friggin' banger.

P.S. Shouts to that picture. One of my new favorite things. Silly Coldplay!

Avicii

Goodness gracious. Earthquake in New York City. Didn't feel it. Slept through it. Did not, however, sleep through all of the miserable Twitter jokes that stemmed from the earthquake. I even made one of my own! How fun! Anyways, the video for Avicii's "Fade Into Darkness" is here. I dunno. Can't really get behind the video. But like. Yo. The track? Such a good look.

Oh. And don't forget to peep the kid Janski's remix of the song.

Janski + Avicii + Arty & Mat Zo

Aight. So there's this Swiss dude Janski, right? And Janski and I went to college together. DJed a grip of raves together. Blew the power at a house party together. Drank drinks and listened to house music together. Opened for one another. Stuff like that. None of it made any sense, but most of it was pretty fun.

Anyways, Janski has been doing some serious Ableton work lately. Remixed Avicii's "Penguin." It's fire. I definitely prefer it to the original (though the original is super swag as well). Remixed Arty & Mat Zo's "Rebound." Also fire. Get familiar:
