Details On Yasuyuki Inoue's Passing

When word got out in fan circles that Yasuyuki Inoue had passed away, I emailed Tom Baker at The Daily Yomiuri in Japan to see if he had any additional information.

I received this reply today:

Dear Armand:

Sorry for the slow reply to your message. I just checked the Yomiuri database and was mildly surprised to see that the paper ran nothing about Yasuyuki Inoue's death. But then I did a Japanese Google news search (results here: http://bit.ly/wZW59n) and saw that the Jiji wire service, the Sankei Sports newspaper and the Nikkei Shimbun each had an item on it -- but each of the items is only two or three sentences long.

Basically, they say that he was a Fukuoka Prefecture native who died in Kanagawa Prefecture of heart failure at the age of 89. They also mention a couple of the movies he was involved in.

His Japanese Wikipedia entry has been updated to show that he died on Feb. 19. http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%BA%95%E4%B8%8A%E6%B3%B0%E5%B9%B8

A Dose Of Style: Adele

Hello there lovelies,

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is a British singer-songwriter, and a lady who seems to consistently divide public opinion. I have heard her touted as the epitome of beauty & talent, and I have heard people making ugly remarks about everything from her looks, to her body, to her voice. I lean more towards the first camp - I think Adele is absolutely fabulous. Apparently, enough people agree with me for her latest album to have been certified platinum 14 times over in the UK, and for her to take out Grammy awards in six categories earlier this year. Plus, I am of the opinion that she always looks bitchin'.

How is it possible for someone to look this damn amazing while belting their heart out? Love the hair, love the smoky eye, and love the sneaky pattern on her beautiful dress.

I am all over this cut in dresses at the moment. It's flirty but modest, sexy but subtle, and has a little bit of retro edge. I'm also totally digging the blingy shoes.

This jacket. Luckily Adele has already positioned herself in a slightly seedy looking alley, because I'm planning to mug her, and make off with this jacket. Do you reckon she'd still give me an autograph after that?

Another beautifully cut dress, and have I mentioned how in awe I am of this lady's hair yet? I probably shouldn't say that my first thought was, "Wow, if only it wasn't totally creepy to think about scalping someone," and pretend that I was smart enough to think of a replica wig first. Yeah, that. I totally want a replica wig of Adele's hair, no scalping involved.

Again with the fabulous hair! How hot does this lady smoulder in this dress? It suits her shape perfectly, and is just all-around frickin' sexy. I approve. If you're wanting to carry yourself with a bit of Adele swagger, here's how to go about it:

Paint your nails fire engine red, put on your best smoky eye, and swathe your lips in the same colour as your nails. Give the mirror your best smirk, and then bust out this number:

So you're sitting there looking through this post like, "Hm, Korallreven and Elite Gymnastics. Yes, yes, approve. Hm, Ladyhawke and Nile Delta. Yes, yes, approve. A Musical Interlude: With Bon Jovi

Hello there lovelies,

I really think that this weeks musical selection should need no introduction. But then, I do have an incredible soft spot for 80's/90's hair metal/hard rock. Just in case you've been living under a rock since the early eighties, Bon Jovi is an American rock band from New Jersey. They have released 15 albums throughout their career, and performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries. What you won't find on their Wikipedia page however, is the fact that they are absolutely boss, and that awesome blogger Max California has been known to rick-roll people with lyrics from Livin' On A Prayer. Her rick-rolling reminded me how much I love these guys, got Livin' On A Prayer stuck in my head for three days straight, and led to this post. Thanks Max! Here's my favourite Bon Jovi songs:
